This morning we welcomed our guest preacher, Pastor Marjorie Weiss. Pastor Margie is a native Pennsylvanian who was ordained in 1980 and is among the first 200 Lutheran women pastors in the nation. At the time of her studies at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, the books still referred only to male pastors. She has served parishes in Upstate New York and Pennsylvania, and retired last year after twelve years serving a congregation in Wellington, FL. Pastor Margie is married to David Derr and has two daughters and two teenage grandchildren. Pastor Margie and David live in Vitalia. She enjoys knitting, writing and singing.
